Background and Growth
Originally established to provide high-quality hospital and outpatient care to Tri-Valley residents, Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley has steadily expanded its offerings and regional footprint. Integration with Stanford Medicine brings world-class specialists, leading-edge treatments, and research-based care directly to local families—eliminating long travel times while maintaining clinical excellence.
Looking ahead to 2026, Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is making significant investments to expand service lines and meet the growing needs of the Tri-Valley. Plans include expanding cardiovascular care with new interventional areas and advanced procedural suites, along with major upgrades to GI and endoscopic facilities and new clinicians.
Another key component of this growth is the construction of the East Wing at the Pleasanton campus—a three-story, state-of-the-art facility that will double emergency department capacity with 24 additional bays. The expansion will also feature a modern laboratory, pharmacy, sterilization department, and dedicated space for future inpatient beds, ensuring flexibility for continued growth.
In Livermore, a cornerstone program—Physical and Sports Medicine (PSM)—continues to help patients regain independence and function after injury, surgery, or neurological events. Using a collaborative, evidence-based approach, PSM focuses on restoring quality of life through personalized care. This program will play an integral role in the upcoming orthopedic expansion, which will further strengthen musculoskeletal services by offering advanced orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, joint care, and post-operative rehabilitation.
